Experienced Painter

The Whole Show Restorations Inc. is seeking a full-time, experienced painter to join our restoration team. Our company works with insurers and loss-adjusting firms to restore flood and fire damaged properties back to original condition. Our employees are dedicated claims handlers and restoration technicians who collectively strive to reduce the insurance claim life cycle and support business and homeowners during this stressful period. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • Experience in restoration industry is considered beneficial • 1 – 5 years painting experience • Minor carpentry skills • Valid BC driver’s license and a personal vehicle are required • Clean criminal record as it relates to work KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Able to apply paint to all surfaces interior and exterior including walls, floors, doors, ceilings, and cabinets • Scrap, sandpaper, prime, and seal surfaces prior to painting. • Friendly, personable, professional, and able to take control in difficult situations • Ability to communicate regarding progress and/or troubleshooting on an ongoing and daily basis • Meticulous record keeper with an eye for detail • Willingness and aptitude to participate in training our crew members as required • Able to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency calls WORKING CONDITIONS: • Work is physically demanding must be able to lift over 35lbs • Personal Protective Equipment is available for use and at times is mandatory • This position works on job sites mostly within Parksville/Nanaimo/Port Alberni/Comox Valley areas, however there are also job sites outside of this area • Shifts vary, but the usual workday is 8:00am to 4:30pm, less a half hour unpaid lunch break • CSA boots must be worn at all times when on job sites or in the warehouse • Overtime may be required on a periodic basis • This position has a component of on-call shifts on a rotational basis with plenty of opportunity for overtime The Whole Show Restorations offers year-round employment and competitive wages.
