Festival of Trees Victoria supporting BC Children’s Hospital – SPONSOR A TREE!

Festival of Trees, presented by Scotiabank, brings local businesses and organizations along with members of the community together in support of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Trees get sponsored and spruced up to go on display at the Bay Centre for everyone to enjoy from November 16, 2023 to January 3, 2024. If you are seeking a fun team building event while displaying your commitment to the community – this is it!

This year, funds will go toward cancer research at BC Children’s Hospital. You can participate by sponsoring a tree (until November 10, 2023) or donating to support the events held at our five locations across BC.

Capital Bike Fall Go By Bike Week – October 16-29

Go By Bike Week is a 100% FREE tri-annual event encouraging everyone to try cycling! Cycling is proven to improve happiness and productivity, as well as both mental and physical health! With gas prices on the rise, there is no better time to leave the car at home. Not to mention, it’s super fun!

Passion and Performance Haunted Mansion – October 28

This Halloween Passion and Performance Arts Inc. is bringing you into our Haunted Mansion, an immersive horror experience. Join us on October 28th at the Crystal Garden for this terrifying event.

Passion and Performance’s annual themed parties are one of our most sought after events in Victoria, and the Halloween adaptation is even more popular. With our last Halloween event almost selling out, this is sure to be in high demand, get your tickets early so you’re not left without!

Souper Bowls of Hope – October 17

The Souper Bowls of Hope is Victoria Youth Empowerment Society’s (YES) iconic lunchtime event that brings the citizens of greater Victoria & the downtown business community together to raise funds in support of vulnerable and at-risk youth.

On October 17th, take a break from your workday and come dine on delicious soup created by three of Victoria’s Top Chefs and choose a beautifully handcrafted bowl to take home. Every year we bring in live music, to make our Souper Bowls event fun and vibrant, showcasing local talent.

Souper Bowls could not exist without the support of many many Local Vancouver Island Artists and Potters. Take home your choice of a beautifully handcrafted bowl created by one of these amazing local talents, all in support of Victoria’s Street Youth though this event. Reserve your seats now!

Creative Craft Fairs – November 10-12

 

One of Vancouver Island’s most established fairs, the 44th Annual Creative Craft Fairs, November 10th to 12th at Pearkes Recreation Centre.  There will be an array of unique crafts to purchase for the holiday season. Over 125 exhibitors will show their finest crafts, gourmet food, fine art, photography, clothing, glass art, jewelry, bath and beauty products and fine woodwork.

In addition, the fair will feature a section of high quality imports, fair trade goods and much more. Enjoy snacks or lunch at Greek on the Street! The Pearkes venue provides a relaxed spacious environment that is wheelchair accessible. An ideal time to shop is Friday November 10th, opening at 11am and closing at 7pm.   Open Saturday November 11th 10am to 5pm and the last day for enjoyable shopping is SUNDAY NOVEMBER 12th 10am to 4pm! The Island is full of talented nomads looking for their next home, and we’re excited to be hosting them this year at the Songees Wellness Centre on Admirals Rd in Esquimalt. Rock, Raffle & Roll for Healthcare! Win this autographed Fender American Professional II Stratocaster guitar!

Big names from the Los Angeles music industry lend their names to help raise funds for the Saanich Peninsula Hospital. Iconic musicians, guitarists Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel and Steve Postell, drummer Russ Kunkel, and bassist Leland Sklar have played for Hall-of-Fame artists (James Taylor, Keith Richards, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Carole King, Stevie Nicks and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) and now make up the “supergroup”, The Immediate Family. They have autographed this guitar to raffle off and raise funds for the Saanich Peninsula Hospital & Healthcare Foundation (SPHHF).

Funds raised will be used to help purchase much needed equipment for Saanich Peninsula Hospital’s Emergency Department, Operating Room and throughout the hospital. The proceeds will help to provide care teams with the most up to date equipment and technological advancements, ensuring the highest levels of care and best possible outcomes for everyone on the peninsula and surrounding area.

Tickets are $25 each or 5 tickets for $100 and can be purchased through the SPHHF website www.sphf.ca until 4:30 pm on October 11, 2023. The draw will be held on Wednesday, October 11th at 4:45 pm.

Ballet Victoria presents Ballet Rocks – October 20-22 & November 3-5

“Ballet Rock” fuses tradition with revolution, showcasing a mesmerizing journey through time. Commencing with excerpts from the classical pirate ballet based on Lord Byron’s 1814 poem, “Le Corsaire” sets the stage for a night of high-seas adventure and passionate romance. With a focus on technical bravado, Ballet Victoria demonstrates why this famous rectories continues to be proffered all over the world to this day.
