Position: Access Management Coordinator Classification:Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week) Salary:$33.00 - $35.00 Depending on experience Location:Williams Lake and six Tŝilhqot’in Communities Deadline:Until Filled The Tŝilhqot'in National Government (TNG), is the official First Nations government serving the Tŝilhqot'in Nation. TNG is located in Williams Lake, British Columbia and serves six communities which include ʔEsdilagh, Tŝideldel, Yunesit'in, Tl'etinqox, Xeni Gwet'in, and Tl'esqox. The Tŝilhqot’in National Government (TNG) is seeking one full time Access Management Coordinator . This person will lead TNG's access management initiatives across the Territory for the six Tŝilhqot’in communities including within the mountain caribou range. The focus is on linear features restoration, mainly roads, to meet the Nations goals and objectives around road densities and restoration for both habitat and wildlife population improvement. Key Responsibilities * Conduct assessments of linear feature status * Collect and analyze data * Hold engagement opportunties with Tŝilhqot’in communities, BC Government, and stakeholders to determine priority roads/features * Lead community meetings regarding access management priorities, input, and updates * Develop priorities, plans and strategies to meet the linear features goals and objectives (also to be developed/lead by this coordinator) * Complete and submit proposals, permits, and other paperwork for projects * Create and implement contracts for restoration work * Supervise restoration work including various contract crews * Assist with other Stewardship initiatives as available and required, such as, wildlife collar mortality investigationsThe ideal candidate will have or be working to achieve the below criteria: * Experience working with and for First Nations communities * Experience managing road restoration works including the planning and permitting phase within BC * Experience developing management plans including Nation level goals and objectives * Capability to manage and balance numerous projects with varying priority levels simultaneously * Ability to work in remote locations including overnighting in community to attend various meetings, field work, and supervision of restoration work * Experience and comfort working and travelling in bear country * Use of various technology including; trail cameras, SPOT device, iPads, side by sides or other outdoor focused technologyWorking Conditions * Travel will be required * Ability to attend and conduct presentations * Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware * Overtime as required * Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be requiredPlease send a cover letter, resume and 3 references to: Jenai Nolin Human Resources Generalist & Recruitment Tŝilhqot’in National Government 1729 South Lakeside Drive Williams Lake, BC V2G 3A9 Email: jenainolin@tsilhqotin.ca Preference will be given to those of Aboriginal Ancestry - per Section 16(1) of the Canadian Human Rights Act.
